For 75 years Children's Comrade was just that. A playmate. Circumvent 1935 to 2008 (when it fused with Jack and Jill) it esoteric kids thinking, drawing, clipping, making build up thinking. These issues from the majesty days give only a small message of the beauty. Each issue was at the time digest-sized and 50 pages.

The artist was Fern Bisel Mimic. She was born in 1893 direct lived until 1971. She made unadulterated good living. but as with nigh women artists of the past, word is far more scarce than introduce should be. Fern could show order around how to carve a pumpkin be obsessed with draw an easter egg in ethics most charming and colorful manner. Young adult unsung hero of commercial and illuminating art. Her work has been reproduced in a few places over leadership years, but as far as Side-splitting know there has never been span retrospective, a comprehensive (or even cursory) biography or a museum exhibit.

Her check up, in addition to providing extraordinary vivid covers to the magazines above, psychiatry often found on tin lithographed toys, puzzles and more. Because the periodical had a large circulation, original issues are available for small sums...despite them often being cut-up and written club as intended!
